Job Title: Sales Engineering Manager
Location: Remote (Candidates based in the midlands or below)
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Project Sales Engineer to join our team. You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations and global manufacturing centres to convert leads into profitable, long‑term partnerships. This role combines account management with new business development, focusing on delivering engineered solutions for powder handling and process equipment applications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical understanding and experience working with industrial equipment within the powder processing sector. This is a client‑facing, technically driven sales role, focused on engaging with customers across food, pet food and chemical sectors, translating complex powder handling challenges into robust, engineered solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a sales strategy to grow both new and existing customer accounts
- Manage and develop key accounts with a consultative, technically focused sales approach
- Respond to customer enquiries with a high level of professionalism, service and technical competence
- Develop a deep understanding of customer powder processing requirements and propose fit‑for‑purpose solutions supported by technical data and documentation
- Generate accurate, well‑costed quotations using price lists, configuration tools, and close collaboration with internal sales teams and product managers
- Produce outline process flow diagrams to demonstrate and communicate proposed solutions
- Perform technical calculations to support equipment selection and system design
- Support customer trials and solution validation, including work in the test cell where required
- Forecast sales activity and pipeline in collaboration with the Head of Sales
- Provide structured monthly reporting on sales activity, opportunities and performance
- Maintain strong internal relationships to ensure effective project handover and execution
Compliance, Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Promote a “right first time” culture and maintain high professional and technical standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business
- Ensure all Health & Safety regulations are understood, followed and actively promoted
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment
- Support and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including audits, NCRs, OFIs and customer complaints as required
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a technical sales or sales engineering role
- Strong technical understanding of powder processing systems (essential)
- Experience working with engineered solutions within food, pet food, chemical or related process industries
- Comfortable producing technical calculations, flow diagrams and quotations
- Commercially astute with a consultative sales mindset
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Willingness to travel within the UK, with occasional international travel
