SEN Teacher | QTS Required | PMLD, Complex Needs & Autism | Benfleet Location: Benfleet, Essex Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September 2026 or asap Salary: Teacher Payscale talentED Recruitment are working with a specialist SEN school in Benfleet seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join their team. The school caters for pupils with a wide range of additional needs including Autism, PMLD, SLD, Complex Learning Difficulties, SEMH and Communication Needs. The successful candidate will primarily teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, although flexibility to support across Primary phases may be required. Responsibilities * Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across multiple curriculum areas. * Adapt learning materials to meet a range of cognitive and developmental abilities. * Support pupils with EHCP targets and personalised learning plans. * Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including Therapists and Support Staff. * Monitor progress and maintain accurate records. * Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing. Essential Requirements * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) * Previous SEN teaching experience. * Experience supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD, Autism, Complex Needs, or SEMH. * Strong understanding of differentiated learning. * Excellent behaviour management skills. * Ability to teach across a range of subjects and learning levels. * Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one. Desirable * Team Teach, PRICE, PROACT SCIPr-UK or equivalent training. * Experience within specialist schools, resource provisions, AP or PRU settings. * Knowledge of AAC, PECS, Makaton or sensory learning approaches.
