We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a SENCO. We have schools across Essex looking for both part time and full time SENDCOs to join the team. This role involves supporting the developmental and educational needs of children across various age groups, with a focus on early childhood education and special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with children, parents, and educators to foster a positive learning environment that promotes growth, behaviour management, and effective communication. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about child development and education to make a meaningful impact.

Duties

  • Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions to support children's communication skills.
  • Assist with maths activities and tutoring to enhance numeracy skills.
  • Implement early childhood education programmes, including preschool activities and toddler care.
  • Support children with special educational needs through applied behaviour analysis and behaviour management strategies.
  • Develop engaging teaching materials, including proofreading and curriculum planning.
  • Facilitate physical education activities and promote healthy development through active play.
  • Mentor children in social skills, behaviour regulation, and emotional well-being.
  • Provide childcare support during classroom activities or behavioural interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's development and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience or qualification in speech therapy, early childhood education, or special education is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with children across different age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with children, parents, and team members professionally.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and applied behaviour analysis principles.
  • Ability to develop educational content such as tutoring materials or proofreading documents related to child development programmes.
  • Experience in teaching physical education or mentoring children is advantageous.
  • Childcare experience, particularly within preschool settings or early childhood environments, is preferred.
  • A caring attitude coupled with organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
