A thriving and ambitious secondary school in the Portsmouth area is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join its successful Design and Technology department from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Food Preparation and Nutrition and is looking for a role with a 100% Food Technology timetable. The position is offered on a one-year fixed-term basis initially, with a strong possibility of a permanent appointment for the right candidate.

The Role

  • Full-time Food Technology teaching position
  • 100% Food Preparation and Nutrition timetable

  • Monitoring progress and supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes
  • Working collaboratively within a supportive department

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
  • Be passionate about practical learning and developing students' life skills
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
  • Have high expectations of behaviour, achievement and attendance
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
