talentED Recruitment are working with a specialist SEN school in Benfleet seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join their team. The school caters for pupils with a wide range of additional needs including Autism, PMLD, SLD, Complex Learning Difficulties, SEMH and Communication Needs. The successful candidate will primarily teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, although flexibility to support across Primary phases may be required.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across multiple curriculum areas.
- Adapt learning materials to meet a range of cognitive and developmental abilities.
- Support pupils with EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including Therapists and Support Staff.
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous SEN teaching experience.
- Experience supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD, Autism, Complex Needs, or SEMH.
- Strong understanding of differentiated learning.
- Excellent behaviour management skills.
- Ability to teach across a range of subjects and learning levels.
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable
- Team Teach, PRICE, PROACT SCIPr-UK or equivalent training.
- Experience within specialist schools, resource provisions, AP or PRU settings.
- Knowledge of AAC, PECS, Makaton or sensory learning approaches.
