SEN Teacher QTS Required

Location: Benfleet, Essex

Contract: Full-Time

talentED Recruitment are working with a specialist SEN school in Benfleet seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join their team. The school caters for pupils with a wide range of additional needs including Autism, PMLD, SLD, Complex Learning Difficulties, SEMH and Communication Needs. The successful candidate will primarily teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, although flexibility to support across Primary phases may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across multiple curriculum areas.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet a range of cognitive and developmental abilities.
  • Support pupils with EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including Therapists and Support Staff.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous SEN teaching experience.
  • Experience supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD, Autism, Complex Needs, or SEMH.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated learning.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to teach across a range of subjects and learning levels.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable

  • Team Teach, PRICE, PROACT SCIPr-UK or equivalent training.
  • Experience within specialist schools, resource provisions, AP or PRU settings.
  • Knowledge of AAC, PECS, Makaton or sensory learning approaches.
