Are you an experienced Energy & Utilities procurement specialist looking for the opportunity to own a critical category and become the recognised subject matter expert within a leading UK organisation?
Talent Drive are supporting the search for a Procurement Manager – Energy & Utilities, a standalone role with responsibility for approximately £20m of spend across a diverse utilities portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys operating autonomously, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving both commercial and sustainability outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver category strategies across Electricity, Gas, Renewable Energy, Water, Diesel, ETS and PRNs
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activity, negotiations and contract management
- Act as the business SME for energy and utilities procurement, providing market insight and strategic guidance
- Monitor market movements, regulation and global trends to support risk management and hedging decisions
- Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance and ESG teams to drive efficiency and support carbon reduction initiatives
- Build strong supplier relationships while ensuring governance, compliance and supply resilience
About You
- Proven procurement experience with strong knowledge of Energy and Utilities categories
- Comfortable operating in a standalone, highly visible role
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Able to interpret market trends and translate them into actionable strategies
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability
- Passionate about balancing cost, sustainability and long-term value creation
