A new opportunity for an ICT & Software services category manager for a leading public sector client in the charity and not for profit sector. The role will focus on creating and implementing strategic sourcing strategies across the ICT category. In addition to creating category plans and developing key frameworks agreements to maximise value. This is a very dynamic focused company who are wanting to hear new ideas and innovations within the role.
What the role involves:
- Software and ICT Procurement Frameworks Development: Lead on design, delivery, and manage end-to-end ICT frameworks.
- Category Strategy: Develop and implement category strategies informed by market intelligence.
- Supplier & Contract Management: Oversee major framework agreements, lead complex negotiations, ensure delivery against KPIs, and manage risk effectively.
- Stakeholder & Member Engagement: Build strong relationships with partners and strategic suppliers.
- Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Share best practice through webinars, publications, and Category Group discussions, and champion cross-category ICT focus areas.
- Governance & Compliance: Uphold ethical standards, ensure frameworks are scalable and aligned with public sector and HE agenda.
The person we are hoping to find:
- Experience in category management within the professional services categories, particularly across ICT categories.
- Contract management experience within public contracting regulations; experience in leading on this would be beneficial.
- Strong negotiation skills and good interpersonal and relationship building skills are important.
- CIPS qualified or ambition to complete this (funding and training can be provided).
- Proven experience in working in a fast moving and result driven environment which demands working under pressure.
