Talent Drive has exclusively partnered with QinetiQ to support the growth of its Procurement & Supply Chain function as part of a major transformation programme. This opportunity sits within UK Defence Delivery, supporting strategic projects across the MOD and wider defence stakeholder base.
This is a key leadership role managing a team of 5, while also remaining handsâon across complex procurement delivery. It would suit someone with strong team leadership, contract negotiation and SRM capability, who can manage multiple projects and help drive a more strategic, businessâpartnering approach across the function.
Key responsibilities:- Lead, mentor and develop a team of 5, driving capability, prioritisation and high performance while remaining handsâon in delivery.
- Build strong relationships with defence stakeholders, ensuring procurement is engaged early and adds value across strategic projects.
- Lead sourcing activity and negotiate complex contracts across niche technologies and services, working with a lot of SME's.
- Drive Supplier Relationship Management across key suppliers to improve performance, governance, innovation and longâterm value for the end customer.
- Support the wider transformation agenda by increasing SME engagement, embedding sustainability and helping shift the function towards more strategic business partnering.
- Proven experience leading procurement or contracts teams in a complex environment.
- Strong depth in contract negotiation and Supplier Relationship Management.
- Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and challenge credibly at senior level.
- Background in defence, engineering, manufacturing, technology or other projectâled environments would be highly advantageous.
