Subcontract Buyer | Leading Construction Brand | Hybrid Working
Location: Glasgow (3 days a week in the office, rest remote)

About the Role:
Talent Drive is thrilled to partner with one of the UK’s top construction brands in their search for a skilled Subcontract Buyer to join their innovative team.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects and make a tangible impact on the business.
In this role, you’ll oversee the end-to-end procurement process for subcontract sourcing. Your responsibilities will include creating procurement strategies, preparing RFQs/ITTs, managing and evaluating submissions, and making recommendations for contract awards.
The company offers a flexible work schedule, with a minimum of three days a week in the office, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life. Additionally, you\’ll receive full support and funding for your CIPS qualification as you grow your career within this leading brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end procurement activities for the sourcing of subcontracts
- Preparation of invitation to tenders and requests for quotations for subcontract, materials and service requirements.
- Support the implementation and delivery of direct business unit and wider group procurement and supply chain initiatives
- Undertake strategic supplier relationship management (SRM) to improve service delivery and help ensure suppliers deliver contracted outcomes.
- Manage supplier performance (SPM) using portal for projects/ contracts.
- Escalate any ongoing problems
- Provide procurement support for estimating and work winning opportunities for the Business Unit
- Liaise with the work winning and Project teams to assist with the resolution of supply issues, escalating as and when required to higher members of the team.

Skills and experience required:
- Subcontract experience.
- Previous experience of procurement processes within a utilities related environment including working with both materials suppliers and subcontractors.
- A proven track record in negotiation and process compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, strong commercial awareness, a measured approach to decision making and the ability to ensure best value procurement.
- The ability to adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance is essential.
