We’re supporting a well-established, commercially progressive organisation in Hampshire with the hire of an experienced Procurement Category Manager - Estates on a permanent basis. Operating with a commercially minded and flexible approach, the organisation is not constrained by traditional public sector frameworks, enabling a more agile and outcome-focused procurement function.

The Role

This is a key position within a strategic procurement team, responsible for shaping and delivering category strategy across estates-related spend. You’ll work closely with estates, facilities, and project stakeholders to deliver effective procurement solutions across capital works, maintenance, and FM. You will play a central role in driving value, managing risk, and developing strong supplier relationships that support long-term estates and infrastructure objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver procurement strategies across estates, capital works, FM, and maintenance
  • Lead complex sourcing activity including tendering, negotiation, and contract award
  • Act as a trusted commercial partner to senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making
  • Establish and manage frameworks for capital projects and planned maintenance
  • Drive cost savings, efficiencies, and improved supplier performance
  • Improve supplier management, standardisation, and procurement processes
  • Ensure strong governance, contract management, and compliance where required

About You

  • Proven experience in estates, FM, or construction procurement
  • Strong track record delivering complex, high-value sourcing projects
  • Solid understanding of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Confident stakeholder manager with strong influencing skills
  • Experience delivering commercial value, supplier performance improvements, and process change
  • Ideally CIPS qualified (or working towards)
