We're partnering with a major player in the foodservice procurement industry to recruit a Strategic Sourcing Buyer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong sourcing experience who enjoys running competitive tender processes, analysing supplier proposals, and delivering commercial value through strategic procurement activity.

The Role

As a Strategic Sourcing Buyer, you'll support and deliver end-to-end sourcing projects across a broad range of spend categories. Working closely with category teams, commercial stakeholders, and suppliers, you'll help drive cost savings, improve service levels, and support strategic procurement objectives. This is a highly visible role offering exposure to large-scale sourcing projects, market analysis, and senior stakeholder engagement within a fast-paced commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver sourcing and tender projects from market engagement through to supplier recommendation
  • Analyse supplier submissions and build commercial evaluations
  • Support delivery of savings, quality, service, and value objectives
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and sourcing priorities
  • Gather and interpret market intelligence, supplier insights, and cost driver analysis
  • Ensure sourcing activity is compliant with procurement governance and audit requirements
  • Track and report on sourcing outcomes, savings, and project performance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing processes and best practice

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a sourcing, procurement, or commercial buying role
  • Strong experience managing tenders and competitive sourcing activity
  • Excellent analytical and commercial evaluation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proactive, organised, and detail-oriented approach

Highly Desirable

  • Procurement or sourcing experience within FMCG, foodservice, retail, or a related sector
  • Experience using eSourcing platforms (e.g. Scanmarket, Jaggaer, Coupa, Ariba, etc.)
  • Understanding of category management principles
  • CIPS qualified or currently working towards qualification
