A growing procurement consultancy is looking for a Manager-level Procurement Consultant to join its consumer and FMCG practice, supporting clients across complex procurement transformation, sourcing and value creation programmes. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys consulting but wants to stay close to delivery - leading workstreams, managing client relationships, building category strategies and delivering tangible savings across consumer-facing businesses.
The role will suit someone with consulting experience and a strong understanding of direct procurement categories within FMCG, food & beverage, consumer goods or manufacturing. You might have worked across ingredients, packaging, raw materials, commodities, contract manufacturing, logistics or wider supply chain categories, but the key is being able to apply that experience in a client-facing consulting environment.
Key responsibilities:- Lead procurement consulting workstreams across sourcing, category strategy, cost reduction and procurement transformation projects.
- Work directly with senior client stakeholders to understand business challenges, shape procurement opportunities and deliver practical commercial recommendations.
- Analyse spend, supplier markets, specifications, demand and category performance to identify savings and value creation opportunities.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies across direct and related categories within FMCG, food & beverage, consumer goods or manufacturing environments.
- Manage project delivery, coach junior consultants and ensure client work is delivered to a high standard, on time and with clear commercial impact.
- Procurement consulting experience, ideally at Manager level or as a strong Senior Consultant ready to step up.
- Direct category experience within FMCG, food & beverage, consumer goods, manufacturing or adjacent sectors.
- Strong sourcing, category management, negotiation and supplier market analysis experience.
- Confident leading client workstreams, managing stakeholders and presenting recommendations.
- Commercially sharp, analytical and comfortable working in fast-paced project environments.
- Join a specialist procurement consultancy with a strong reputation for hands-on delivery and measurable value creation.
- Focus on interesting consumer and FMCG clients, where procurement directly impacts cost, resilience, innovation and growth.
- Take ownership of workstreams and client relationships rather than being one small part of a large consulting machine.
- Work alongside experienced procurement consultants in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong platform for progression into senior consulting leadership as the consumer practice continues to grow.
This would suit someone who combines consulting polish with real category substance - particularly someone who understands the commercial realities of direct spend in FMCG or food and beverage, and can turn that into credible, client-facing procurement advice.
