A rapidly growing Data Centre Provider headquartered in London but with an international footprint has opportunities for a Senior Procurement Manager to join their expanding team. Located in London but with projects across the UK and Europe, they are keen to hire experienced managers with a focus on M&E and long lead equipment and OFCI implementation. It’s an exciting time for this PE backed business and you’ll be joining at a point of significant expansion. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain for critical Long-Lead Equipment (LLE) that goes inside a data centre, generators, UPS equipment, switch gear, chillers, crack units, mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Streamline and optimize the procurement process for M&E, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Monitor and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and identifying areas for renegotiation or improvement.
- Conduct comprehensive cost analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficient procurement decisions.
- Develop and manage procurement budgets for M&E projects, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Supervise and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, support, and training to enhance their skills and performance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in procurement activities related to M&E.
Skills and experience required:
- Experience of driving M&E and Capital procurement within a complex environment ideally within construction, telecoms or data centre services industry.
- Strong technical procurement skills linked with the ability to drive best practice and innovation.
- Able to drive change into traditional stakeholder relationships and gather business support for new ways of working that create value.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies to form alignment.
- Expert in creating and delivering longer term plans and outcomes.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to proactively challenge and influence key stakeholders.
