We’re supporting a major UK infrastructure organisation delivering a significant 132kV reinforcement project across mainland Scotland through to the Isle of Skye. This is a high-profile power transmission project involving both Overhead Line and Underground Cable works.
They are looking for a Senior Buyer to take ownership of end-to-end procurement across subcontract, materials, plant and equipment packages for the project, with potential exposure to wider Business Unit opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end procurement activities across subcontract, materials, plant and equipment packages
- Develop and implement project procurement strategies and maintain procurement schedules
- Run RFQs / ITTs, evaluate tenders and produce award recommendations
- Manage and develop supply chain performance, driving value, efficiency and continuous improvement
- Work closely with project and contract teams to ensure commercial, HSEQ and sustainability objectives are achieved
- Senior-level procurement experience within construction, utilities, infrastructure or related sectors
- Strong tendering and negotiation experience on complex, high-value subcontract packages
- Commercially astute with strong compliance and governance awareness
- Experience managing supplier performance and developing long-term supply chain relationships
- MCIPS (or working towards) preferred; Oracle R12 experience advantageous
