We are currently seeking a motivated Site Engineer with 26 years experience to join a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across Ireland and the UK. Known for a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative, hands-on approach, this contractor offers excellent career progression and the opportunity to work on large-scale, technically challenging schemes. You will be joining the team on a major road construction project in Louth, gaining exposure to key elements of earthworks and site works within a supportive and experienced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of earthworks and site works packages on a large-scale road project
- Set out, level, and survey the site to ensure works are carried out in line with design specifications
- Assist with the planning and coordination of daily site activities
- Work closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager to ensure smooth project delivery
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards
- Monitor and maintain quality control procedures on site
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including drawings, reports, and daily diaries
- Identify and report any site issues, including delays, design discrepancies, or safety concerns
- Liaise with subcontractors and site teams to ensure efficient workflow and sequencing of activities
- Contribute to short-term planning, including lookahead programmes
About You:
- 26 years experience in a Site Engineer or similar role within civil engineering
- Strong background in civils, ideally with experience in roads, earthworks, or infrastructure projects
- Proficient in setting out and use of surveying equipment
- Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
