About the Role
On behalf of our client, a premier electronic safety and security provider, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Fire & Security Engineer to join their expanding technical team in Belfast. This role involves managing the installation, planned maintenance, servicing, and reactive fault-finding of diverse fire protection and electronic security systems across commercial, industrial, and high-end residential sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the installation, commissioning, routine servicing, and emergency maintenance of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV networks, and integrated access control systems.
- Troubleshoot complex technical faults efficiently to provide high-quality, long-term solutions.
- Complete all site documentation, digital compliance logs, and asset lists accurately to ensure industry standards are met.
- Participate in the company's emergency standby/on-call rota to provide reliable out-of-hours coverage.
- Provide professional, client-facing customer service, explaining technical resolutions clearly and delivering system user training to on-site representatives.
- Ensure all works adhere strictly to current regulatory standards (including BS 5839 and BS 4737) and active health and safety guidelines.
Experience and Requirements
- Proven, field-based track record as a Fire & Security Engineer (ideally 3+ years of experience).
- Comprehensive, multi-skilled technical knowledge across both fire alarm panels and electronic security infrastructure.
- Relevant industry certifications (such as FIA units, 18th Edition, or manufacturer-specific training awards) are highly advantageous.
- Exceptional diagnostic, fault-finding, and mechanical problem-solving capabilities.
- A valid, clean UK driving licence is mandatory for this field-based position.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a professional demeanour suitable for client interaction.
