Role Overview: This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Site Manager with 2-3 years of experience in the construction industry. As an Assistant Site Manager, you will work closely with a highly experienced Project Manager and Site Manager, gaining on-the-job training and mentoring to help you progress into a competent Site Manager. You will assist with managing the housing development, ensuring it is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Support: Assist the Site Manager and Project Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the housing development, including coordinating teams, subcontractors, and deliveries.
- Health & Safety: Support the Site Manager in ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations on site. Carry out regular inspections and risk assessments.
- Team Coordination: Help supervise subcontractors and site operatives, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Quality Control: Assist with monitoring and maintaining high-quality construction standards, addressing any issues promptly.
- Progress Monitoring: Track project progress and assist in reporting to senior management. Keep all stakeholders updated on site activities and potential delays.
- Material & Resource Management: Help ensure that materials, resources, and equipment are delivered on time and are being used effectively.
- Training & Development: Learn from the Project Manager and Site Manager through hands-on training to gradually take on more responsibility and develop into a fully competent Site Manager.
Requirements:
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a construction role, ideally with some exposure to site management or working alongside a Site Manager.
- Motivation: Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and develop into a competent Site Manager. The ideal candidate will be driven, proactive, and hungry to grow in the construction industry.
- Skills: Good understanding of construction processes, health and safety regulations, and quality control. Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC, HND, or degree in construction management) and certifications (e.g., CSCS, First Aid, SMSTS or equivalent).
