The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join a growing property maintenance team working across high-end properties in Surrey. This is a mobile role, providing a varied workload across multiple sites, supporting general maintenance and repair tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard, working both independently and alongside other engineers and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct general property maintenance including carpentry, tiling, and repairs to doors, windows, and locking systems
- Install and repair guttering and drainage systems
- Carry out basic plumbing repairs
- Source and collect materials from local suppliers as required
- Oversee contractors on-site when necessary, ensuring work is completed correctly
- Provide support to colleagues, including covering absences and assisting where needed
- Participate in an on-call rota and occasional night work when required
- Follow all company policies and health & safety regulations at all times
- Carry out any additional tasks as required within the scope of the role
Requirements
- Experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role
- Strong skills in one or more trades such as carpentry, plastering, or tiling
- Competent using a range of hand tools
- Basic understanding of building regulations
- Good practical skills and ability to measure and calculate accurately
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Full, clean UK driving licence
