About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Handyman to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract in Newmarket. Working within a commercial environment, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure the premises remain safe, functional, and well maintained. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong maintenance background who enjoys a varied, hands-on role.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general building maintenance and repairs.
- Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating tasks.
- Replace fixtures and fittings as required.
- Complete minor electrical maintenance (where competent).
- Conduct routine inspections and report any defects.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
About You
- Previous experience in a handyman, maintenance or facilities role.
- Experience working within a commercial property or facilities environment.
- Good all-round practical skills across multiple trades.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
