Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, heating, and mechanical systems across multiple properties. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and carry out the installation and maintenance of mechanical, plumbing, and heating systems, ensuring all work meets required standards.
- Oversee and coordinate subcontracted maintenance teams to ensure work is completed on schedule.
- Plan and manage the annual maintenance schedule across multiple properties.
- Ensure all gas safety regulations are adhered to and certification is properly documented.
- Act as the main point of contact for technical issues, troubleshooting problems with equipment, materials, and procedures.
- Approve and order necessary parts, equipment, and contractor services.
- Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts and back-up equipment.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and unforeseen issues, even outside of normal duties.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and company procedures.
- Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and provide cover for colleagues when required.
Requirements:
- Strong leadership experience in mechanical and building maintenance.
- Extensive practical experience in mechanical installations (including AHUs & FCUs).
- City & Guilds Level 1 & 2 in Domestic Plumbing & Heating (Level 3 preferred).
- Gas Safe certification with solid knowledge of gas appliances.
- Familiarity with unvented systems and relevant certification.
- Commercial gas qualifications (CoDNCO1, TPCP, ICPN1, CDGA1) desirable.
- Knowledge of commercial catering gas safety (CCCN1) is an advantage.
