A growing building services and compliance business is looking to appoint an experienced Water Services Manager / Plumbing & Drainage Supervisor to oversee reactive and planned plumbing, drainage and water hygiene operations across a varied commercial portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong plumbing, drainage or water hygiene background who has progressed into a supervisory or operational management role. The successful candidate will lead engineers, coordinate subcontractors and support the operational growth of the division. This is a management and coordination-focused role rather than a day-to-day tools-on position. You'll play a key role in service delivery, compliance management and client relationships.
You will take ownership of reactive plumbing and drainage operations while overseeing water hygiene compliance activities across commercial sites. You’ll manage a small team of engineers and specialist subcontractors carrying out:
- Water testing
- Flushing
- Sampling
- L8 compliance works
- Water hygiene remedials
- Reactive plumbing and drainage works
You’ll also be responsible for organising workloads, supporting engineers, liaising with clients and ensuring service standards are maintained across the contract portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing reactive plumbing and drainage works across commercial sites
- Supervising engineers and coordinating subcontractors
- Overseeing water hygiene compliance activities linked to ACOP L8 regulations
- Reviewing reports, testing records and remedial recommendations
- Managing day-to-day client communication and operational issues
- Organising reactive callouts and engineer attendance
- Supporting quotations and remedial recommendations where required
- Ensuring works are completed safely and in line with compliance standards
- Driving service standards and supporting operational growth of the division
What We’re Looking For
- Strong background in plumbing, drainage or water services
- Previous experience supervising engineers or managing small teams
- Good understanding of L8 / Legionella compliance and water hygiene processes
- Experience managing reactive maintenance operations
- Comfortable dealing with clients and coordinating subcontractors
- Organised and confident managing compliance-related works
- Commercial building services experience preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
