Are you looking to develop your career within a growing finance team where no two days are the same? This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a successful and innovative business. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in supporting the finance function, ensuring the smooth processing of supplier invoices, employee expenses, reconciliations and financial reporting.
What you'll be doing:
- Processing supplier invoices and reconciling supplier statements
- Managing employee expense claims and company credit card expenses
- Ensuring suppliers and employees are paid accurately and on time
- Managing the finance inbox and responding to queries promptly
- Preparing and posting journals into the accounting system
- Reconciling intermediary bank accounts including PayPal, Stripe and Klarna
- Assisting with management accounts preparation and cost analysis
- Supporting debtor reviews and ensuring account balances are accurate
- Managing customer debt collection activities and commission calculations
- Assisting with reporting requirements and year-end audit preparation
- Supporting sustainability and carbon reporting initiatives
About you:
- Previous experience within an Accounts Payable, Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant role
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and other financial systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Positive, proactive and team-oriented approach
- Studying towards an AAT qualification would be advantageous
