Classic Car Technician

Location: Weston-super-Mare Salary: Up to £40k per annum Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week Holiday: 20 days annual leave + Bank Holidays

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Classic Car Technician to join a specialist vehicle restoration and repair business in Weston-super-Mare.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working on classic and prestige vehicles and takes pride in completing high-quality work.

You’ll be involved throughout the repair and restoration process, working across mechanical, body, preparation and paint disciplines.

The Role

As a Classic Car Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of restoration and repair work, including:

  • Removing and refitting mechanical components, body parts and trim as required.
  • Preparing vehicles and components for paint.
  • Carrying out body shaping and ensuring panels are correctly prepared.
  • Applying primers and preparing surfaces for top coats.
  • Applying paint top coats and lacquer to a high standard.
  • Carrying out polishing, finishing and detailing work.
  • Ensuring completed vehicles meet the required quality and presentation standards.
  • Working carefully and accurately to achieve a high-quality finish on specialist vehicles.

About You

We’re looking for someone with previous experience working on classic, prestige or restoration vehicles, with a strong eye for detail and pride in their workmanship.

You should be comfortable working across different stages of a vehicle repair and restoration project, rather than being restricted to one area.

A background in body repair, preparation and paint, alongside mechanical and trim knowledge, would be highly beneficial.

You’ll need to be

  • Experienced within the automotive repair, restoration or bodyshop sector.
  • Confident removing and refitting mechanical, body and trim components.
  • Experienced in body preparation, shaping and priming.
  • Comfortable applying top coats and lacquer.
  • Skilled in polishing and final detailing.
  • Quality-focused with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a specialist team.
