Vehicle Mechanic in Rochdale

Mechanic Location: Rochdale Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum + Benefits Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanic to join a busy and professional fleet workshop in Rochdale. Working within a fast-paced autobody workshop environment, you will be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance and general mechanical repairs across a varied range of vehicles. The role offers a good mix of work, with a strong focus on keeping vehicles maintained, safe and on the road. This role would suit an experienced Mechanic or Vehicle Technician with a strong background in servicing and general repairs, who enjoys a varied workload and takes pride in completing work to a high standard. The Main Purpose of the Role * Carry out servicing and general maintenance on a wide range of fleet vehicles. * Complete fast-fit servicing and repairs as required. * Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and carry out any necessary repair work. * Diagnose and repair electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment. * Carry out brake repairs, replacement and maintenance. * Carry out clutch replacements and associated repairs. * Complete general mechanical inspections and identify any additional work required. * Ensure vehicles are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard. * Work efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime and keep the fleet operating effectively. * Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used. ​​​​​​​You Will Have * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. * Previous experience working as a Mechanic or Vehicle Technician. * Strong experience across servicing, maintenance and general mechanical repairs. * Experience with brakes, clutches and MOT preparation. * Good electrical diagnostic and fault-finding skills. * Experience working on fleet vehicles would be advantageous. * EV / Hybrid experience would be desirable. * Engine repair experience would be welcomed but is not essential. * A reliable and professional approach to your work. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Benefits * Up to £40,000 per annum. * Monday to Friday working pattern (8:00am – 5:00pm). * 1-hour lunch break. * Saturdays optional for those looking to earn additional income. * Plenty of overtime available. * Predominantly fleet vehicle work. * Varied workload across servicing, repairs, MOT preparation and diagnostics. * Opportunity to develop experience with EV and Hybrid vehicles. * Stable Monday-to-Friday working environment. * Ongoing training and development opportunities.
