I’m currently working on a Technical Sales Engineer role with a client focused on improving efficiency within CNC manufacturing environments. This is not a typical sales role. It’s a consultative position working with manufacturers to improve processes, reduce downtime and get more from their tooling.

You’ll be speaking with machinists, production teams and engineers day to day, so a strong understanding of how parts are made and how machines run is key.

The role:

  • Working with manufacturers to improve machining efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Supporting customers with tooling, presetting and process optimisation
  • Visiting customer sites and building long-term relationships
  • Delivering a consultative, solution-led approach rather than product selling
  • Managing a mix of existing accounts and new business

What they’re looking for:

  • Background in CNC machining, tooling, or manufacturing engineering OR experience in technical sales within machining / tooling environments
  • Good understanding of shopfloor processes and production challenges
  • Confident speaking with engineers and machinists
  • Someone who enjoys solving problems and adding value

Why consider it:

  • Move into a more consultative, customer-facing role
  • Stay close to engineering while building commercial experience
  • Strong earning potential with bonus
  • Hybrid working with field-based flexibility
