TCS Consulting is working with a well-established global manufacturer within the industrial automation and sensor space, looking to appoint a Regional Sales Engineer to take ownership of the South Wales and West of England territory.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys a consultative, technical sales approach, working closely with OEMs, system integrators, and end users to deliver value-led solutions rather than just products. The business is known for its innovation within sensing and automation technology, with a strong reputation across multiple industries.

As Regional Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and developing a defined territory, building long-term relationships and driving growth across both existing accounts and new business. This is a field-based role, combining account management, technical support, and new business development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and growing key accounts across the region
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Delivering technical demonstrations and product solutions
  • Preparing and following up on quotations and proposals
  • Managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to order
  • Building strong relationships with OEMs, integrators and end users
  • Working closely with internal technical and product teams
  • Using CRM systems to track activity, pipeline and opportunities
  • Attending exhibitions, networking events and customer visits

You’ll be expected to manage your territory effectively, with a target of regular customer visits and strong pipeline activity.

What They’re Looking For:

This role would suit someone with a background in technical sales within engineering or automation, particularly within sensors, controls, or related technologies.

Key requirements:

  • Experience in a technical sales or sales engineering role
  • Strong understanding of OEMs, system integrators and manufacturing environments
  • Ability to sell consultatively and build long-term relationships
  • Comfortable demonstrating technical products and solutions
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Well organised with good time management
  • Full UK driving licence
  • An electrical or electronic engineering background would be beneficial but not essential.

What’s on Offer:

  • Competitive base salary + bonus
  • Company car / allowance
  • 25 days holiday (increasing with service)
  • Pension (employer contribution)
  • Private healthcare
  • Life assurance
  • Strong internal support and development structure

Why This Role?

This is a good fit for someone who wants to:

  • Move into a more solution-led technical sales role
  • Work for a market-leading automation business
  • Take ownership of a well-defined territory
  • Build long-term relationships rather than transactional sales
