The Company:

TCS Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Irlam, Greater Manchester. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of procurement, inventory, supplier management and logistics operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Supply Chain Manager to join a growing business where you will play a key role in supporting production, improving supplier performance and driving operational efficiency.

The Role:

As Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring materials are available to meet production requirements while maintaining cost-effective and efficient logistics operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing procurement of raw materials and consumables
  • Developing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts
  • Managing inventory levels and stock accuracy
  • Overseeing inbound and outbound logistics
  • Monitoring supplier performance and delivery schedules
  • Working closely with production and operations teams
  • Driving continuous improvement across supply chain processes
  • Managing transport providers and logistics partners
  • Improving OTIF, lead times and overall supply chain performance

About You:

To be successful in this Supply Chain Manager role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Supply Chain Manager, Procurement Manager, Logistics Manager or similar
  • Manufacturing, engineering or industrial sector experience
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems
  • Excellent planning, organisational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with production and operations teams

Desirable:

  • CIPS, CILT or related qualification
  • Experience within heavy manufacturing, foundry, steel or automotive sectors
  • Lean or continuous improvement experience
