Introduction:
TCS Consulting is supporting a well-established South Yorkshire main contractor in the search for a Business Development Manager. This is a key commercial role within the construction sector, focused on identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships and maximising work through existing frameworks. The role would suit an experienced construction business development professional with strong relationship-building skills and knowledge of commercial construction markets.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the construction sector
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, architects and supply chain partners
- Maximise opportunities through existing construction frameworks
- Monitor tenders, PQQs and tender submissions
- Attend client meetings, site visits, networking events and presentations
- Liaise with estimating and commercial teams to support successful bids and project wins
Requirements:
- Previous experience in construction business development, ideally within a main contractor or commercial construction environment
- Confidence in developing relationships, spotting opportunities and working closely with internal teams to help secure new projects
- Experience within commercial construction sectors such as healthcare, education, public sector or similar environments
- Understanding of tenders, PQQs, frameworks and construction sales processes
- Strong relationship-building, communication and presentation skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to work closely with estimating and commercial teams
- Full UK driving licence
