Introduction:
TCS Consulting is supporting a leading global manufacturer of industrial sensor and automation solutions in the search for a Sales Engineer to cover South Wales. This is a home-based, field sales role focused on building relationships with OEMs, end users and system integrators across a wide range of industrial sectors. The successful candidate will combine technical understanding with commercial drive, helping customers identify the right sensor, automation and application-led solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a defined sales territory across South Wales
- Build relationships with OEMs, end users, system integrators and industrial customers
- Demonstrate technical products and solutions, preparing proposals, quotations and value propositions
- Generate new enquiries through site visits, networking, exhibitions, social media and prospecting
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including leads, opportunities, customer interactions and quotations
- Work with internal product, marketing and industry specialists to develop complete customer solutions
Requirements:
- Experience in technical sales, regional sales or account management within an engineering-led environment
- Confidence in selling to industrial customers and understanding customer applications, technical requirements and commercial drivers
- A background in automation, sensors, electronics, controls or industrial technology would be highly beneficial
- At least 2 years experience in a similar UK-based sales, technical sales or regional sales role
- Experience working with OEMs, end users and/or system integrators
- Knowledge of industrial automation, sensors, controls, electronics or related technical products
- Strong account management, communication and negotiation skills
- Full, clean UK driving licence with flexibility to travel and stay overnight when required
