Talent by OGV is recruiting on behalf of our growing client, who is looking for a skilled Applications Analyst to support with the deployment and support of technical applications.
About the Role - Based in Aberdeen, this role involves working closely with clients to support their technical applications, troubleshoot software issues, and assist with IT change initiatives. You will play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and system efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for geology, geophysics, petrophysics, and reservoir engineering applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to minimize downtime and improve performance.
- Configure, deploy, and manage key applications such as Petrel, TNavigator, Sapphire, and Techlog.
- Oversee software licensing, reporting, and vendor coordination.
- Support system upgrades, patches, and ongoing maintenance.
- Align IT strategies with business needs and ensure system documentation is maintained.
- Lead client meetings, workshops, and status updates to ensure seamless service delivery.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in an oil & gas environment is essential.
- Experience in supporting and maintaining oil & gas applications.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to optimize application performance.
- Technical knowledge of application management, server architecture, databases, and integrations.
- Familiarity with IT service management (incident, problem, and change management) – ITIL certification is a plus.
- Ability to onboard and integrate new applications into a support model.
