Talent by OGV is recruiting on behalf of our growing client, who is looking for a skilled Applications Analyst to support with the deployment and support of technical applications.

About the Role - Based in Aberdeen, this role involves working closely with clients to support their technical applications, troubleshoot software issues, and assist with IT change initiatives. You'll play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and system efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for geology, geophysics, petrophysics, and reservoir engineering applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to minimize downtime and improve performance.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage key applications such as Petrel, TNavigator, Sapphire, and Techlog.
  • Oversee software licensing, reporting, and vendor coordination.
  • Support system upgrades, patches, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Align IT strategies with business needs and ensure system documentation is maintained.
  • Lead client meetings, workshops, and status updates to ensure seamless service delivery.

Required Skills

  • Previous experience in an oil & gas environment is essential.
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining oil & gas applications.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to optimize application performance.
  • Technical knowledge of application management, server architecture, databases, and integrations.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (incident, problem, and change management) – ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Ability to onboard and integrate new applications into a support model.
