Trainee Engineer
Salary: £28 - £30k + Benefits
Full Time - will accommodate students attending college/University one day a week
Site Based | Civil Engineering & Infrastructure Projects (must have UK driving licence)

We're looking for a Trainee Engineer to join a market-leading civil engineering contractor renowned for delivering innovative infrastructure projects valued up to £50 million. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, develop technical skills, and gain hands-on experience working on a variety of construction and infrastructure projects.
As a Trainee Engineer, you will support our engineering team with setting out, surveying, and quality control while working closely with site management and subcontractors. You will be given structured training, mentoring, and real opportunities for progression within the business. You might be a recent graduate or studying and looking to work whilst you complete your qualifications.
What you'll be doing:

• Support engineering and site teams with surveying duties, including using GPS, total stations, and laser levels.
• Help maintain and interpret technical drawings, site plans, and specifications.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure works meet required standards and specifications.
• Assist in recording as-built information, measurements, and daily progress reports.
• Work with site management to ensure health, safety, and environmental requirements are followed.
• Learn to use engineering software and digital tools as part of project delivery.

What we're looking for:

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to work outdoors in a site environment.
• Positive attitude with a proactive approach to learning.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
• GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Degree/studying, NVQ, BTEC, T-Level, or A-Levels in Construction, Engineering, or related fields. (desirable)
• Experience on a construction site (not essential — training provided). (desirable)
