Administrator / Assistant to Office Manager | Construction Industry
Location: West Midlands
Salary: Up to Β£30,000 (Dependent upon experience)
Office Based | Full-time | Monday to Friday

The Role

Talent Build Solutions are looking for an experienced Administrator / Assistant to the Office Manager to join our client, a busy construction business in the West Midlands.
This is a varied and hands-on role that would suit an organised, proactive administrator who already has experience working within the construction industry.
You will work closely with the Office Manager, Purchasing Team and Site Teams, helping to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. From coordinating material orders and communicating with sites, to maintaining compliance records and supporting the onboarding of new starters, you will be involved across a broad range of business activities.
The ideal candidate will be confident communicating with site managers, suppliers, subcontractors and colleagues, have a good understanding of construction materials, and be comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Office Manager and wider team.
  • Support the smooth running of the office and communication between the office and construction sites.
  • Liaise with site teams to understand material and product requirements.
  • Place purchase orders and process orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding availability, delivery dates, pricing and order queries.
  • Compliance & document management - assist with maintaining company and project compliance documentation.
  • Support the organisation and digitalisation of company files and records.
  • Maintain structured electronic filing systems, ensuring documents can be easily located.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees and site-based personnel.
  • Ensure all required documentation and certificates are obtained before individuals commence on site.

About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and proactive.

  • A strong administrator with experience within the construction industry.
  • Experience supporting purchasing or procurement would be highly advantageous.
  • Confidence communicating with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office.
  • A professional, can-do approach and confident telephone manner.
  • Most importantly, you will be someone who takes ownership, follows tasks through to completion and enjoys working as part of a busy construction team - attitude is key, the rest they can train.
