The Role
We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients and are currently seeking Lecturers in Health, Wellbeing & Social Care to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of the BSc (Hons) Health, Wellbeing & Social Care programme delivered in partnership with Oxford Brookes University (OBU). Due to the delivery model, flexibility is required to teach during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Lecturer in Health, Wellbeing & Social Care, you will deliver management-related modules within the subject area. You will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality course materials, undertaking all aspects of learning, teaching, and assessment, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments in your field and student support practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess student learning to ensure all learning outcomes are achieved.
- Develop, update, and enhance course and module materials as required.
- Use a variety of effective teaching and learning methods and resources.
- Actively participate in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings, and administrative duties.
- Maintain awareness of current developments in the discipline and best practice in student support.
- Work towards clearly defined objectives related to student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction, and progression.
About You – Essential Skills and Experience
- A Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable).
- Previous lecturing experience within UK higher education.
- Demonstrable subject knowledge in Health, Wellbeing, and/or Social Care.
- Experience supervising student work and providing academic support and feedback.
- Strong organisational skills with experience of accurate reporting and maintaining structured student records.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student groups.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- A Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification, or a commitment to enrol and complete within three years, or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (or international equivalent).
- Experience in the design and development of academic or professional education programmes.
