We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients, a higher education provider, for an experienced Study Skills Lecturer. The role focuses on supporting undergraduate students by developing their academic, research, and learning skills, helping them succeed in higher education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality study skills sessions across undergraduate levels
  • Support students with academic writing, research methods, referencing, and critical thinking
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging teaching and learning materials
  • Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Maintain accurate academic and student records
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
  • Actively participate in meetings, training, and academic quality processes
  • Support student engagement, retention, progression, and satisfaction

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree in a relevant academic discipline (PhD desirable)
  • Previous UK Higher Education teaching or lecturing experience
  • Strong knowledge of academic study skills and student support practices
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within academic teams
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or international equivalent
  • Experience designing or developing academic or professional education programmes

Additional Information

Flexibility is required to teach during weekdays, evenings, and weekends. This role is based on-site in London.
