Hours of Work: Flexible options are available, from part-time or term-time, with working hours from 9 am to 3 pm during teaching weeks.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with students, Academic Teaching Staff, and Faculty Leads to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. You will serve as the point of contact for students requiring adjustments, manage assessments, provide focused support, and ensure compliance with university policies. Moreover, you will engage in teamwork across various departments, contribute to curriculum development, and actively participate in academic-related meetings, all aimed at enhancing student outcomes.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or five years\’ experience working as a senior Teaching Assistant, with a willingness to undertake the qualification.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the key factors that affect students\’ learning and progress.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of the objectives, content, and intended outcomes of the learning activities involved.
  • Ability to support learners in accessing the curriculum in accordance with SEND and equalities legislation.
