About the Role
We are seeking a capable and experienced Vegetable Crop Manager to join a well-established and progressive vegetable farm near Crail in Fife. The business cultivates 100 acres of broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage, supported by a seasonal team of up to 25 workers who harvest and maintain crops daily. You’ll play a key role in managing and motivating the harvest team to ensure productivity, crop quality, and health & safety are maintained at every stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee harvest and field operations from planting through to collection
- Monitor crop health, forecast harvest timings, and make field-based assessments
- Coordinate daily activities and logistics for seasonal workers, including transport and task planning
- Maintain high standards of food safety, environmental care, and staff wellbeing
- Operate tractors when required (10–20% of the time, no spraying involved)
About You:
- Proven experience supervising harvest or field operations (essential)
- Confident in assessing crops in the field and forecasting harvest schedules
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Valid UK driving licence
