We are recruiting for a skilled farm worker to join a mixed livestock farm based in County Durham. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced farm worker with strong tractor and machinery experience, offering a property included as part of the package.
The Role
- Daily care and management of mixed livestock, including feeding, bedding, and health checks
- Operating tractors and farm machinery for feeding, fieldwork, and yard duties
- Carrying out routine tractor work such as towing, loading, and field operations
- Assisting with livestock handling, movements, and husbandry tasks
- Supporting seasonal work including silage, bedding, fencing, and maintenance
- Maintaining farm buildings, yards, and equipment to a high standard
- Identifying and reporting livestock health or machinery issues
- Working closely with the Farm Manager and wider team
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Skilled or General Farm Worker
- Strong tractor driving experience essential
- Confident operating farm machinery safely and efficiently
- Experience working with mixed livestock
- Good understanding of animal welfare and on-farm health & safety
- Able to work independently and take responsibility
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on, outdoor work
- Full driving licence preferred
