A well-established and progressive fresh produce business in South England is seeking an experienced HR Manager & Welfare Lead to oversee all people-related activities across a diverse workforce. This is a hands-on HR leadership role within a fast-paced agricultural and packhouse environment, supporting both permanent and seasonal teams. You will play a key role in shaping HR strategy, strengthening employee engagement, and ensuring high welfare standards across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage all HR functions across the business
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding and retention (seasonal & permanent staff)
  • Manage employee relations and act as main HR contact
  • Develop and implement welfare and wellbeing programmes
  • Ensure compliance with UK Employment Law and internal policies
  • Support workforce planning with operational managers
  • Drive positive workplace culture and engagement initiatives
  • Oversee performance reviews, training and development plans
  • Maintain HR systems and accurate employee records

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Proven HR Management experience (Fresh Produce / Food Manufacturing / Agriculture desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of UK Employment Law
  • Experience managing seasonal or multi-national workforce advantageous
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Practical, solutions-driven approach
  • CIPD qualification desirable
