Our client is expanding their Sea Freight/Transport team and is looking for an experienced Customs Clearance Specialist to join their Stanford-le-Hope office.
About the Role: This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team and take on a pivotal role within the sea freight/transport environment. We’re seeking a professional with at least three years of Customs Clearance experience who can confidently handle key responsibilities, including:
- Communicating effectively with UK and overseas agents via phone and email.
- Arranging FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less than Container Load) cargo from origin ports to the UK.
- Providing accurate freight quotes and general charge estimates.
- Inputting data into the in-house system with precision.
- Advising customs on shipment updates and handling releases and deliveries.
- Preparing and issuing invoices.
- Ensuring bills of lading are correctly endorsed.
- Managing the full scope of ocean import processes, including customs clearance, releases, deliveries, and billing.
What We’re Looking For:
- Comprehensive understanding of the Brexit transition and its impact on customs procedures.
- Proficiency with systems such as Destin8, CNS, and Sequoia.
- A detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational and communication skills.
