Our client is a leading supplier of an array of products for the household and outside dwellings. Due to an increase in volume of production, they are currently seeking a candidate to join their team on the production line.
Job Summary: The Production Line Assistant supports the efficient operation of the production line by performing tasks such as preparing materials for production runs, monitoring equipment, maintaining a clean workspace, and ensuring products meet quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to workplace efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Support
- Assist in setting up and preparing the production line for operations, ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are ready.
- Operate machinery and equipment as instructed, adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Monitor the production process to ensure smooth workflow and address minor issues or escalate them to supervisors.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet company standards for quality and consistency.
- Maintenance & Organisation
- Keep the production area clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are stored correctly.
- Conduct basic maintenance on machinery as needed and report any technical issues to the management team.
- Health & Safety
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any hazards, accidents, or unsafe practices to the appropriate personnel.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift objects up to 20kg and perform repetitive tasks.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with industry-standard machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations.
- Forklift certification or experience.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced production floor with exposure to noise and machinery.
- Must be comfortable wearing PPE such as gloves, masks, safety glasses, or ear protection.

- Accuracy in product assembly and packaging.
- Efficiency in meeting daily/weekly production targets.
- Adherence to safety protocols and cleanliness standards.
- Timeliness in identifying and reporting equipment or quality issues.
Full time opportunity, site based in Southend on Sea, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm.
