The opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join a growing group of businesses as it starts its next phase of growth.
You’ll own day-to-day management accounts, play a central role in a systems migration, and have a clear runway into Senior Management Accountant, Finance Manager and ultimately Financial Controller.
You’ll report to a strong Finance Manager, but the role is deliberately autonomous - this is for someone who can stand on their own two feet, get out into the business and be visible.
The role – key responsibilities
- Produce timely, accurate monthly management accounts
- Get out into the business and business partner with Ops leads to really understand the numbers
- Provide variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders
- Own key balance sheet reconciliations and ensure robust controls
- Work with budget holders to develop and maintain budgets, and support re‑forecasting and scenario analysis
- Implement and improve overhead controls focused on planning and decision support.
- Support accurate stock, margin and production reporting, working closely with operations.
- Play a key role in an accounts package change, and in standardising processes and reporting across entities.
- Support and upskill finance staff across the wider group.
- Take ownership of defined finance projects and drive continuous improvement.
About you
- Strong management accounting experience in a commercial setting.
- Background in a product-based environment with tangible stock — manufacturing or engineering ideally, though food production, FMCG or similar will be considered
- Demonstrable month‑end management accounts, budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Not afraid to be visible in the business and confident working with non‑finance stakeholders.
- Multi‑entity or group experience (desirable).
- Involvement in a systems migration or implementation (desirable).
- Part‑qualified, finalist or qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA, or QBE with strong relevant experience.
- (experience more important than qual)
- Able to be on‑site every day and happy to be part of a manufacturing environment.
- Why Apply
A genuine platform role in a growing group, with a clear path to Finance Manager and beyond.
Real autonomy, real influence over systems and process, and a business that wants someone to build something and stay to see it through.
