Talent 4 Good are supporting one of the UK’s leading providers of community-based healthcare to recruit a Head of Private Medical Insurance.

Salary: Up To £85k + £5k car and up to 16% bonus

Location: Hybrid, predominantly London sites however candidate needs to be open to travel nationwide if needed.

Role Purpose: The role holder responsibility is to lead the end-to-end delivery and growth of the organisation’s PMI business. The role is accountable for successfully navigating the accreditation process with UK private medical insurers, ensuring compliance with onboarding requirements, clinical governance, and pricing transparency. Once accredited, the role holder will ensure the organisation delivers on growth strategies to scale patient volumes through broker networks, corporate partnerships, and marketing initiatives. This role will act as the subject matter expert for PMI market dynamics, accreditation standards, and insurer requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Commercial Growth: Accountability and day to day responsibility for growing PMI revenue and delivering PMI revenue targets. Develop and execute the organisation’s national PMI and private partnership strategy in alignment with the organisation’s commercial and clinical goals. Develop and implement referral growth plans post-accreditation to increase patient volumes and revenue. Identify and pursue new market opportunities for PMI services, including expansion into new specialities such as Gastroenterology, Dermatology, ENT, and any other specialities that are identified in line with business growth. Optimise PMI pricing models and reimbursement structures to maximise revenue. Provide insight and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team on PMI performance, growth opportunities, and market trends.
  • Insurer & Broker Relationship Management: Act as the primary relationship owner with all UK private health insurers, brokers, and corporate health partners. Own strategic account plans for AXA, Bupa, Vitality, Aviva, and other insurers, conducting quarterly performance reviews and negotiating growth incentives. Build a network of broker and corporate relationships, ensuring commercial alignment and driving patient referrals.
  • Operational Delivery & Service Rollout: Ensure consultants are aligned with PMI pathways, including credentialing, availability, and compliance with insurer requirements. Work with operational teams to embed PMI patient pathways across all sites, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance. Drive continuous improvement, ensuring operational bottlenecks are identified and resolved.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as PMI and corporate healthcare subject matter expert, advising the Executive Team and wider business on market dynamics, competitor activity, and insurer policy changes. Work closely with clinical leadership to manage consultant engagement and capacity planning for PMI patients. Represent the organisation at industry forums, conferences, and insurer meetings, raising our profile nationally. Work cross-functionally with operations, clinical, finance, and marketing to ensure PMI growth and operational excellence.
