Great opportunity to join an innovative Lender as they look to drive forward expansion and growth of their mortgage product portfolio. The Head of Product provides leadership of the product function to execute the strategy of lending growth through a competitive range of Mortgage products such as Buy to Let (BTL), Owner-Occupied or other target market mortgage products that meet customer needs.

The Head of Product will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the achievement of lending goals through appropriate products to the target mortgage markets such as BTL, Owner-Occupied and other niche sectors
  • Development of new and current BTL and Owner-Occupied propositions
  • Delivering high standard of reporting detailing a variety of product and industry metrics
  • Management of the product budget
  • Ensuring a disciplined approach to product development
  • Adherence of governance guidelines required for the product function
  • Ensuring all products are in line with latest regulatory guidelines and changes
  • Management and development of people in the product team

Taking ownership of:

  • Short, medium and long-term planning for the function to execute product strategy
  • Implementation of the product strategy, in terms of funding and proposition development
  • Ensuring products are always in line with different funding channels and risk appetites
  • Work with marketing to deliver impactful product launches that achieve origination targets
  • Leading the day-to-day activities of the product team
  • Deliver high standard of product reporting including analysis of product performance, pricing, competitor and market activity
  • Development and evolution of the commercial Insights function to strengthen presence in the specialist mortgage market
  • Mentoring, professional development and recruitment of team members

Essential experience & Key skills:

  • Proven experience in Mortgage product management having held a relevant senior position preferably in a more specialist or targeted product space
  • A deep understanding of mortgages and the financial services market
  • First hand experience working with and of the intermediary channel
  • Experience in developing / designing new mortgage products with capital markets in mind
  • Ability to analyse management Information, solve problems and offer solutions
  • Strong comms and builds lasting relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Excellent understanding of regulatory landscape & environment Including consumer duty
  • Strategic view, influencing, negotiating & decision making
  • Track record of delivery
