Project Manager – Legal Entity Simplification & M&A Integration Projects

Location: Birmingham / London - Hybrid

Day Rate Contract, Long-term contract

As a result of continued M&A activity, my client has several key strategic projects underway, including the simplification of legal entity structures to reduce operating model complexity and drive efficiency. This role will be instrumental in the successful delivery of acquired Integration business change programmes.

The primary responsibility of the project manager is to support in driving the execution of complex integration projects as required including entity consolidation and rebrand activity. This individual will act as a primary contact for key operational stakeholders in the day-to-day delivery of projects, ensuring they achieve the core objectives and timescales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and drive the delivery of detailed project plans.
  • Co-ordinate in-house functional teams and third-party professional services firms (consultancy and legal) in the delivery of specific work-streams within each project.
  • Support integration lead to establish governance and assurance controls to facilitate decision-making, manage strategic risks and ensure business readiness for change.
  • Identify and escalate cross-functional risks, issues, and decisions that arise, facilitating their mitigation and resolution with the programme team and business stakeholders.
  • Identify, track and manage critical interdependencies across various work-streams including finance, tax, regulatory, operations, and restructuring.
  • Chair project delivery groups, report progress to SteerCo and Integration Office.
  • Document processes and build templates and tools to ensure repeatable processes.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Versatile project manager with a “roll-up their sleeves” attitude to take on multiple roles within a project to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
  • Familiarity with project delivery and change management methodologies and approaches.
  • Ability to build, execute a plan, deliver results and act with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with a proven ability to prioritize and manage time in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to collaborate and quickly build effective working relationships.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Project management experience with direct accountability for project delivery.
  • Hands-on experience managing complex change programmes in dynamic environments.
  • Experience of legal entity amalgamation / simplification / rationalisation / business transfer projects in a regulated environment is preferable.
  • Experience in Regulated markets: Financial services, Banking, Insurance preferable
  • Experience in managing oversee of third-party vendors and teams preferable.
