We are looking for a proactive individual to join Talbots as a Solicitor for our Corporate & Commercial Team, with at least 8 years’ experience of managing a full caseload of company commercial work for sole traders, partners, directors and shareholders. As a Solicitor, you will be dealing with a wide variety of business matters including sales, mergers, acquisitions and corporate reconstructions, as well as being actively involved in business development.

What the job involves: Advising individuals and business clients on a full range of general commercial agreements which will include: terms of business; supply agreements, distribution agreements, service agreements, asset and share purchase agreements, franchise agreements, shareholder, LLP and partnership agreements. Providing guidance on a range of matters, such as company restructures, corporate reconstructions, Shareholder and warranty disputes, small business purchases, partnership deeds and issues, business sales, mergers and acquisitions. Proactively involved in business development activities and to build connections locally with other professionals. Ensure compliance with SRA, Lexcel, Law Society Quality Scheme standards, SARs and accounting requirements.

What you need: To have at least 5 years qualified experience as either a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive within corporate and commercial, managing own caseload across a variety of matters. High level of attention to detail, excellent planning and organisation skills, confident with working to deadlines. Passionate about giving outstanding client care to clients and referrers with strong interpersonal skills, sensitivity, tact and diplomacy.
