Talbots Law is growing its L500 and Chambers ranked Dispute Resolution team in Leek, and we’re looking for a talented Litigation Solicitor to join us at this exciting stage of expansion. You’ll be part of a high-performing, multidisciplinary team acting for both commercial clients and individuals on a full range of commercial and property litigation matters. The department includes administrators, paralegals, trainees, lawyers, associates and directors—bringing together strong generalist experience and specialist expertise.

What does the job involve?
- Advising individuals and business clients on a wide range of disputes, including debt recovery, property litigation, shareholder and partnership disputes, warranty disputes, contract disputes, professional negligence claims and general commercial litigation.
- Providing clear, commercially focused legal advice across both commercial and property litigation.
- Managing your own caseload while working collaboratively within a large, multidisciplinary team.
- Ensuring compliance with SRA, Lexcel, Law Society Quality Scheme standards, SARs and accounting requirements.
- Supporting departmental growth, contributing to business development and building local professional relationships.
What do you need?
- Qualified Solicitor with experience in commercial and/or property litigation (1–3 PQE ideal, though all levels considered).
- Strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules, with confidence handling applications and advocacy where appropriate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing deadlines and competing priorities.
- Proficient in MS Office, case management systems and online research tools.
- Passion for delivering exceptional client service.
- Interest in business development and relationship building.
- Advocacy experience and/or interest in mediation accreditation (desirable).
