Talbot House Children’s Charity is looking to recruit Specialist Support Assistants (SSAs) to work in our school. They will support SEN pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, trauma and attachment (some pupils may have multiple needs). The school is a Non‑Maintained Specialist School with pupils ranging from Reception to Key Stage 4 and class sizes rarely exceed six pupils.
Responsibilities
- Assist pupils with complex needs, support staff, and contribute to a high‑quality learning environment.
Working Hours
Term time only – Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, or alternatively Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Total 39 hours per week, including paid lunch periods.
Salary
£26,321.82 per annum (paid 52 weeks, not pro‑rata).

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will only be offered to successful candidates who undertake an Enhanced DBS check as well as other employment clearances and continued subscription to the DBS Update Service.
