Talbot House Children’s Charity is looking for an experienced English Teacher to work with SEN pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, trauma and attachment, in the Green Zone catering for Key Stage 3 & 4. We are a non‑maintained specialist school with pupils ranging from Reception to Key Stage 4. Class sizes rarely exceed six pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils with a strong focus on curriculum delivery.
- Demonstrate expertise in curriculum planning, classroom management and setting high expectations for all pupils.
- Support pupils’ academic and personal development in accordance with the Teachers’ Standards.
- Work collaboratively with specialist teams to meet the individual educational requirements of SEN children.
Qualifications and Experience
- QTS with completed ECT induction (NQT). Candidates lacking a full induction will not be considered.
- Extensive experience working with Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils, particularly those with varied SEN needs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage small class sizes and adapt lessons to individual requirements.
- Commitment to high expectations and professional development.
Working Hours
39 hours per week during term time. Standard days and times are Monday‑Thursday 8:00 am‑4:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am‑3:00 pm, with optional alternative hours to support childcare or other needs.

- Salary will be considered on an M1‑M6 basis. In addition, a £2,787.00 SEN allowance is paid.
