As a Senior Class Underwriter you will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the team and wider portfolio.
Responsibilities:- Contribute as a senior member of the team to meeting the Business Plan.
- Assist with growth initiatives via development of new business, new products/sub-products, or new distribution initiatives.
- Assist in the reinsurance purchasing strategy for Political Risk and attend meetings with reinsurers if required.
- Comply with the terms of personal underwriting authority.
- Communicate Talbot’s underwriting appetite to brokers and clients.
- Participate in collaboration initiatives with AIG colleagues.
- Leverage broker/client relationships to ensure Talbot sees all business that fits within underwriting appetite.
- Ensure that Political Risk business is conducted, processed, and administered in accordance with the prevailing applicable policies, procedures and agreed service levels.
- Meet annual CPD and training requirements in a timely manner.
- Assist with career development and progression of more junior team members.
- Act in accordance with all regulatory standards and principles at all times.
- Provide information and assistance as needed to ensure that other syndicate staff can carry out their responsibilities.
- Extensive London Market experience critical.
- Detailed knowledge of Political Risk products (Contract Frustration, Credit & PR).
- Chartered Insurance Institute (Advanced Diploma) and/or degree preferred.
